Glenn Hills suffers semifinal loss

ATLANTA -- Ramona Okonya scored 12 points and Mays used a 9-0 run in the third quarter to beat Glenn Hills 36-32 in the Girls AAAA semifinals Wednesday.

Mays (22-10) will meet the winner of the Ridgeland-Hephzibah semifinal for the championship Friday.

Okonya had two key rebounds and a steal in the final minute.

Glenn Hills (27-3) led 22-21 at halftime. Nikkita Gardell led Mays' third-period surge with two baskets, one of them a 3-pointer.

Mays took a 34-30 lead into the final quarter, then slowed the game down.

Reyna Flemmings' 11 points led Glenn Hills.
