Mrs. Lillie Matthews (QUEENS, N.Y.)



QUEENS, N.Y. - Funeral services for Lillie Mae Williams Matthews, formerly of Aiken, will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 4, 2003, at Zion Hill Baptist Church, Talatha community. Interment in the church cemetery. The remains will lie in state at the church from noon until the hour of service. A. A. Dicks Funeral Home, Sullivan Chapel, Columbia. Mrs. Matthews entered into rest on Wednesday, February 26, 2003. She was born March 5, 1936 in Aiken. She was educated at Storm Branch Academy. She lived in Queens Village for 30 years. She provided loving service as a nurse for over 30 years at the Queen of Peace Nursing Home, Queens, N.Y. She was married to the late James Matthews. Mrs. Matthews is survived by three sons, Anthony Matthews, New Jersey, Brian Matthews, Long Island, N.Y. and Craig Matthews, Queens, N.Y.; three brothers, David (Evangeline) Smith of Brooklyn, N.Y., Kenneth A. (Dorothy) Smith of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Mcronel W. (Barbara Ann) of Aiken; five sisters, Ruth Holland, Doris Pope, Mary Annette Vaugh Shirley D. Brown and Chirstmas E. (Jimmie) Starling all of Aiken; nine grandchildren and a host of devoted friends, nieces and nephews. A. A. Dicks Funeral Home Sullivan Chapel in charge of arrangements.
