Mrs. Mary Brady (THOMSON, Ga.)



THOMSON, Ga. - Mary Kitchings Brady, 82, of Thomson, entered into rest Monday, February 24, 2003, at 1:30 p.m. A native of Bullock County, Mary was born on May 25, 1920 to the late Carrie Eugenia Marsh Kitchings and John Buneon Kitchings of Statesboro. Her husband of 56 years, James Eads Brady "Toad," preceded her in death in 1997. They made Thomson their home for most of their lives. She was a licensed beautician since 18 years of age and owned and operated Thomson Beauty Shop since 1956. Mary and Toad were married in 1941, and lived in Wadley. While living there thy were members of the Wadley First Methodist Church. Mary was a member of the Easter Stars and served two terms as Worthy Matron. She was president of the PTA for two years and served on the remodeling committee of the church parsonage and building committee of the church. While in Thomson she was a member of the First Methodist Church and the J.O.Y. Sunday School Class. Survivors include a daughter, Joye Brady Baker and son-in-law, Jerry of Watkinsville; a son, James Eads Brady Jr. and a daughter-in-law Suzanne of Fairfax, Calif.; five granddaughters, Kimberly Baker Fullerton of Marietta, Kristie Baker Harris of Huntersville, N.C., Aimee Brady Tonneson of Atlanta, Caitlin Megan Brady and Alethea Erin Brady of Fairfax, Calif; three great grandchildren, Baker Allen Fullerton and Elizabeth Banks Fullerton of Marietta and Morgan Brady Harris of Huntersville; one sister-in-law, Nan Nelms of Bartow and numerous nephews in Georgia, Florida and South Carolina. Pallbearers will be Robby Fullerton, Jay Haris, Scott Tonneson, Billy Kitchings, Tommy Newton, Jon Nelms, Ben Nelms, Lannis Kitchings. The family will receive friends at Curtis Funeral Home on Wednesday morning from 10 to noon, and church services at Thomson First Methodist Church, 2 p.m. Interment will be at Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens with the Reverend Pat Shannon, Dr. George Freeman Rev.
