After several months without a full-time leader, Augusta's Electrolux Home Products is getting a 46-year-old DuPont executive as its new president.
Swedish appliance giant Electrolux AB announced Monday it had tapped Keith R. McLoughlin to head its North American appliance group. The West Point graduate and his family will relocate to Augusta, and he will assume the position March 17.
Mr. McLoughlin is now the vice president and general manager of DuPont Nonwovens, where he has served during the past 22 years in a number of senior management positions. The DuPont nonwovens business includes such brands as Tyvek house wrap, Corian countertops and Stainmaster carpeting.
As president of Electrolux Home Products North America and executive vice president of Stockholm-based Electrolux, he will report directly to Hans Straberg, the parent company's president and CEO.
Electrolux Home Products, whose brands include Electrolux, Frigidaire, Tappan and Poulan/Weed Eater, has sales of approximately $3.1 billion and about 15,000 employees.
Formerly known as Frigidaire Home Products, the appliance group was created in 1997 through the consolidation of several appliance businesses acquired by Electrolux.
Electrolux announced in September plans to separate household appliances from consumer outdoor products in the North American market. Bob Cook, who had managed both businesses prior to September, will serve as president of the outdoor products division in North America.
Electrolux Home Products employs about 200 people at its corporate building at 250 Bobby Jones Expressway.
Electrolux AB, with global brands such as Husqvarna and Zanussi, is the world's largest producer of powered household appliances.
