Mr. Bill Rox (AUGUSTA, Ga.)



AUGUSTA, Ga. - Entered into rest on Friday, February 21, 2003, at the residence, Mr. William T. "Bill" Rox, 81 of Augusta. Mr. Rox was a native of Augusta and lived here all of his life. He was a member of St. Mary on-the-Hill Catholic Church. He was a graduate of the University of Georgia. He served as an Augusta City Councilman and was a member of the Retired Officers Association of the Georgia Railroad Bank and Trust Company. Mr. Rox was preceded in death by his sister, Jane Rox Wheeler and brothers, John Rox Jr. and Frank F. Rox. Other family members include his sister, Mary Rox Kane of Pheonix, Arz. and 11 nieces and nephews including John Rox, Frank Rox and Robert Rox. A Vigil for the deceased will be today, (Sunday) at 4 p.m. and the family will receive friends until 6 p.m., at Thomas Poteet and Son. The Funeral Mass will be Monday, February 24, 2003 at 11 a.m., from St. Mary on-the-Hill Catholic Church with Rev. Jerry Ragan celebrant. Honorary escort will be members of Retired Officers Association of the Georgia Railroad Bank and Trust Company. They are requested to assemble at the church at 10:40 a.m., Monday. Interment will be in Westover Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to St. Mary on the Hill School, 1220 Monte Sano Ave., Augusta, GA. 30904.
