Tuell remains stuck on 99



KENNESAW, Ga. - Augusta State coach Gary Tuell will have to wait three more days for another shot at his 100th career victory with the Jaguars.

Kennesaw State made sure it wasn't Tuell's 100th victim, handing the Jaguars their worst Peach Belt Conference loss of the season, 81-57 on Wednesday night.

Tuell won his 99th game in the Jaguars' previous contest, on Saturday.

Augusta State (15-9, 11-5 in the Peach Belt) plays host to Francis Marion Saturday at 7:30.

The Jaguars hit just 15 of 50 shots from the field (30 percent), committed 16 turnovers and was outrebounded 44-27 by Kennesaw (21-6, 13-3).

Jermale Wilkerson and Darrick Broddie led Augusta with 11 points each.

In the women's game, Augusta State lost 80-72 despite a 24-point night by Sabrina Jones. The Lady Jaguars are 16-7 and 11-5.

PEMBROKE, N.C. - USC Aiken swept a Peach Belt Conference doubleheader from UNC Pembroke behind Bryant Latimer and Katie Mitchell.

Latimer scored 26 points as USC Aiken (4-20, 3-13) won 71-54.

Mitchell had 16 points for the women (16-11, 7-9), who prevailed 76-59.
