AUGUSTA, Ga. - Frank E. Ferris, Jr., 91, of Augusta died Sunday, February 16, 2003 at Kentwood Nursing Facility. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, February 20, 2003 at 10:30 a.m. in the Church of the Most Holy Trinity with the Rev. Allan J. McDonald, celebrant. The burial will follow at Magnolia Cemetery. A native of Augusta, Mr. Ferris was the owner of F. E. Ferris & Co., a local mens retail clothing store which was opened in 1911 by his father and continued to be operated by Mr. Ferris until the 1980s. A World War II Veteran, Mr. Ferris served his country in the U.S. Army and was stationed in the Aleutian Islands. He was a Roman Catholic and a member of the Augusta Country Club and the Augusta Golf Association. Survivors include one sister, Martha Ferris Tate of Marietta and eight nieces and nephews. Contributions may be made to: Augusta Chapter Alzheimers Association, 1899 Central Avenue, Augusta, Ga. 30904. Active pallbearers will be Ferris Dorr, Joe Ward, Phillip Ward, Frank Ward, Bill Young and Frank Tate. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Augusta Golf Association, Buck Camp and Don Razlaff.
