Have you ever made up alternate lyrics to a popular song (think Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer)? Your pastime could finally pay off.
Xtreme is running a funny lyrics contest. We're looking for alternative lyrics to popular songs. It could be any song, but there is one rule: Keep it clean. If you're between the ages of 13 and 18, send us written lyrics or mail us a tape of you singing the lyrics. The most creative ones will be chosen and the author will receive a $50 prize. They'll also be showcased online at The Chronicle's Web site at augustachronicle.com.
We'll publish winners in the Feb. 25 issue of Xtreme.
Mail your entry to FUNNY LYRICS, The Augusta Chronicle, Attn. Jennifer Hilliard, P.O. Box 1928, Augusta, GA 30903-1928. You can e-mail entries to firstname.lastname@example.org or fax them to (706) 722-7403. Entries must be received by Tuesday, Feb. 18. For more information, call 823-3223.
