COLUMBUS, Ga. - Andrew Williamson recorded two goals, and Colin Zulianello had 36 saves as the Augusta Lynx defeated the Columbus Cottonmouths 4-2 on Saturday for their second consecutive victory.
Williamson's first goal came off assists from Tyson Holly and Doug Christiansen to give Augusta an early lead. Columbus' Darren McAusland tied the game at 1, but Jim Shepherd's goal less than two minutes later gave the Lynx (15-25-3) the lead for good.
Williamson and Ryan Lauzon added goals in the second period to give Augusta a 4-1 lead.
The Lynx were outshot 38-27 by the Cottonmouths (15-23-6), but were 2-for-3 on power-play opportunities. Columbus was 0 of 7.
For the second straight night, Zulianello was solid. On Friday, he stopped 35 of 36 shots against the Columbia Inferno, and stopped 36 of 38 against Columbus.
Columbus goalie Michael Morrison stopped 17 of 21 shots in 40 minutes before he was replaced by Matus Kostur in the third period.
Augusta's next game will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Johnstown.
