  • Michael T. Parsons has been promoted to national creative director for Fairway Outdoor Advertising, a division of Morris Communications Co. He was previously art director for Fairway. Before that, he was creative director at Red Door Designs Inc. and a part-time graphics instructor at the University of South Carolina.
  • Atiya Mosley, has started her own law firm, Atiya M. Mosley, P.C. She was previously with Georgia Legal Services. Ms. Mosley been a member in good standing of the State Bar of Georgia for the past four years.
  • Clint Waller has assumed responsibility of SouthTrust Bank's Belair Road location. Mr. Waller joined the company in 2001 as a vice president and residential construction lender.
  • Georgia Bank & Trust Co. announced the following promotions and officer elections by the Board of Directors:
  • Larry O. Sides, business development officer at the southside office, has been promoted to vice president. Mr. Sides has been with the company since 1998 and has more than 25 years of experience in banking. He is a board member of the March of Dimes, president of South Augusta Exchange Club and president of Pride in Progress.

    Carolyn L. Johnson has been promoted to assistant vice president of collections. Ms. Johnson has 35 years of experience in credit and collections. She has been with the company for four years. She has held the title of Credit Professional of the Year, given through the Credit Professionals Organization. She is also president of the Augusta Retail Credit Association.

    Pamela K. Brooks has been elected banking officer. She is manager of the Evans office and has been an employee since 1993. Ms. Brooks has 18 years of banking experience. She is an active volunteer with the American Red Cross and the Augusta Southern Nationals, which contributes proceeds to the Children's Special Olympics.

    Deidre B. Clements has been elected trust officer, client services. Ms. Clements has 10 years of trust experience, three of which have been with Georgia Bank & Trust. She also holds the national designation of Certified Trust Financial Advisor. Ms. Clements is a member of the Institute of Certified Bankers and Lutheran Church of the Resurrection, and is the treasurer of the A. Brian Merry Elementary School PTA.

    Michelle A. LaBorde has been elected operations officer, electronic banking. Ms. LaBorde has 12 years of banking experience, seven with Georgia Bank & Trust. She is a volunteer soccer coach and a member of St. Teresa's Catholic Church. She is also a volunteer for the American Cancer Society, United Way, American Heart Association, Arts in the Heart and The Imperial Theatre.

    Donna M. Moody has been elected mortgage loan officer, post-closing. Ms. Moody has 10 years of mortgage banking experience, three with Georgia Bank & Trust. She volunteers for local events such as the Augusta Rescue Mission, March of Dimes and MS Walk.

  • Peggy Maddox has joined WAGT-TV (Channel 26) as an account executive.
  • InfoPro Group Inc. announced the hiring of the following staff members: Angela Johnson and Bethany Wilkus as medial data analysts, and Cathleen Caldwell as marketing coordinator.
  • Ms. Caldwell will organize the creation and production of sales, marketing and other materials. She was previously involved with communications/public relations at the Environmental Restoration Division of Savannah River Site.

    Also, Brian Davis joined the company as a programmer in charge of maintaining and developing software applications. He was previously a database designer with Digital Dimensions Inc.

  • Judy Walker has joined the staff of Richmond Lumber Sales. She has 17 years of industry experience, in both domestic and import markets, and was previously employed by Georgia-Pacific Corp., Hammermill Hardwoods and Highland Hardwood Sales.

  • Four Hughes Business Services employees Marilyn Washington, office manager; Sandy Peace, secretary; Joanne Brown, business services representative; and Alan Manuel, graphics design artist, recently attended the Getting Motivated seminar in Augusta to prepare for the income tax season.
  • At its January board meeting the directors of the CSRA Community Foundation announced the following officers:
  • Clayton R. Boardman III, chairman; Thomas M. Blanchard Jr., chair-elect; R. Lee Smith Jr., president/CEO; Aubrey C. Rhodes Jr., secretary/treasurer; Abram J. Serotta, chairman, grants committee and H.M. Osteen Jr., chairman, investment committee.

    The following new board members were also elected:

    David S. Copenhaver, Jane Howington and Shell Knox.

  • April N. May has just completed her Certification for Beauty Advisor with AVON in Columbia, where she was trained in makeup application, skin care and color consultation.
  • David Fogle, owner of HomeScope Property Inspection Services Inc., has achieved full member status with the American Society of Home Inspectors, the oldest and largest home inspector society in North America.
  • Chris Lee has been elected president of the CSRA Association of Healthcare Executives, the local chapter of the American College of Healthcare Executives. Mr. Lee is administrative director of Pediatric Ambulatory Services at MCG Health Inc., where he is responsible for managing all outpatient and satellite pediatric clinics.
  • The following employees from The Partridge Inn completed the Green Belt Training for Process Improvement using Six Sigma:

    Also, the following employees of the Partridge Inn have completed the three-day Executive Champion training for coaching Six Sigma Black Belts and Green Belts: David Jones, Florence Glover, Sharon Sullivan, Cynthia Bates, Herman Duncan, John Scherer, Kevin Kilchenstein, Philippe Chin, Jim Lee and Charles Smith.

  • The Augusta Area Chapter of the Society for Human Resources Management announced the following members of the chapter-sponsored preparation course at Aiken Technical College have recently earned the prestigious Professional in Human Resources certification: Dana Lampkin, assistant human resources manager, ASCO Valve Manufacturing Inc.; Becky McCoy, compensation and benefits, Merry Land Properties; and Beatrice Montoya, employment manager, SITEL.
