AUGUSTA, Ga. - Entered into rest Friday, January 3, 2003, Mr. Eulie Leroy Eubanks, husband of the late Evelyn Tucker Eubanks. Funeral services will be held Monday, January 6, 2003, at 2 p.m. at Platts Crawford Avenue Chapel, with the Rev. Allan Faulkner officiating. Burial will follow at Bellevue Memorial Gardens. Mr. Eubanks was a retired Fire Chief at E. I. Dupont. He served in the Navy during World War II and was a member of VFW Post 3200, the American Legion Post 63, the Richmond County Citizens for Good Government, and a 32nd degree Mason. He was known as the "Harrisburg Mayor" for 23 years, and the Harrisburger of the Year in 1979. Mr. Eubanks also did the cooking for different political rallies. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Vicky Friedrichs of Isle Palms, S.C., Mrs. Yvonne Catchpole of Augusta, and Mrs. Debra Favors of North Augusta; two brothers, Mr. Edward Eubanks of York, Maine and Mr. W. E. Eubanks of Waynesboro; two sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Daniels of Weldon, N.C., and Mrs. Ruby Robbins of Augusta; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Sue Adcox. A daughter, Mrs. Cheryl Pruitt Wellman, predeceased Mr. Eubanks. If so desired, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2623 Washington Road, Augusta, GA 30904. Pallbearers will be Ronnie Strength, Charlie Webster, Charlie Beale, Jack Spivey, Larry Newton, Louis Epperly. Honorary Pallbearers will be the American Legion Post 63.
