Augusta Assembly marks its 50th



The Augusta Assembly celebrated its 50th anniversary Friday, Dec. 27, with its annual winter ball.

A social organization, The Assembly was founded in 1952. Each year, the club holds a winter ball at the Augusta Country Club to recognize honored guests.

This year, nine young adults were honored formally.

Festivities began with a receiving line, where the honored guests met members of The Assembly. After cocktails and dinner, the annual Presenters' Dance was held, in which guests dance with parents or sponsors.

This year's honored guests were:

Samuel Wallace Carnwath III, escorting Bethany Rae Quigley. He was presented by Mr. and Mrs. Charles Thomas Huggins.

Anna Grady Cumming, escorted by Alston Ayers Cumming. She was presented by Mr. and Mrs. David Hugh Connally.

Maryanna Dandridge Marks, escorted by Roberts Dennis Bovard. She was presented by Mr. and Mrs. Henry Mortimer Marks III.

Iverson Bryans Long, escorting Susan Chandler Smith. He was presented by Mrs. Eugene Mitchell Long.

Samuel Barrett Long, escorting Megan Kristina Beveridge. He was presented by Mrs. Eugene Mitchell Long.

Judith Gary Rader, escorted by Jerel Michael Carn Jr. She was presented by Mr. and Mrs. William Theodore Gary III.

Katherine Wilson Salters, escorted by Roger Duncanson Meqroz. She was presented by Mr. and Mrs. William Theodore Gary III.

Frank Dalmon Salters III, escorting Tracy Anne Kolakowski. He was presented by Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Gary III.

Daniel Wingfield Stewart, escorting Mary Catherine Ward. He was presented by Mr. and Mrs. Richard Cree Kilpatrick.
