NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. - Mr. Earnnie L. Lindsey, 71, husband of Nell W. Lindsey, of Hickory Court, entered into rest Thursday, January 2, 2003 at the V. A. Medical Center, Augusta. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, January 6, 2003 in the chapel of Rowland Funeral Home with Dr. Donald Nims and Mr. David Lovejoy officiating. Interment will be in Florence National Cemetery, Florence, SC at 2 p.m. with military honors accorded at the graveside. Pallbearers will be Tommy Hayes, John Moore, Virgil Wilkerson, George McMillan, Mark Burton and Dan Smith. Mr. Lindsey was born in Marion County, Alabama and had lived in North Augusta for the past twenty years. He was an Army veteran, having served during the Korean Conflict and was a member of the American Legion Post # 51 in Fulton, Mississippi. Mr. Lindsey was retired from Pepperidge Farms (Campbell Soup Company). He was a member of Central Church of Christ in Martinez, GA. Additional survivors include a daughter, Lynda Ann Lindsey of North Augusta, SC, a daughter and son-in-law Susan L. and Anthony G. Rizi of Virginia Beach, VA; two grandchildren, Robert Thomas Rizi and Liam Paride Rizi. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday afternoon from 4 to 6 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Heart to Heart Fund of Central Church of Christ, 3650 Old Petersburg Road, Martinez, GA 30907 Rowland Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
