EVANS, Ga.- Mr. David Harold McConaughey, 55, beloved husband of Donita McConaughey, of Deerwood Way, entered into rest Thursday, November 28, 2002 at his residence. Mr. McConaughey was a native of Ancon, Canal Zone, He was a 1967 graduate of Balboa High School, Balboa, Canal Zone and attended Panama Canal College, LaBoca, Canal Zone. He completed his machinist apprenticeship with the U. S. Government, and retired from the Panama Canal Commission where he worked for over thirty years as an equipment maintenance general foreman at Pedro Miguel Locks. Mr. McConaughey was a member of the Panama Canal Society, A. A. R. P. , the National Association of Retired Federal Employees, and the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers. The funeral will be Sunday, December 1, 2002, at 4 p.m in the Rowland Funeral Home Chapel, with visitation for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at a later date in Florida. In addition to his wife, survivors include his parents, Richard Harold McConaughey and Alma Juanita Taylor McConaughey of Ocala, Fla; a son and daughter-in-law, Ryan David and Patricia McConaughey of Oxford, Fla; a daughter, Leann McConaughey of Casselberry , Fla; two brothers, Robert Harvey McConaughey of Merritt Island, Fla; and William Joseph McConaughey of Houston, TX; and three grandchildren, Kyle, Kayla and Rachel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 2680 North Canton, OH 44720. Rowland Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
