Augustans missed good opportunity

On Election Day, Augusta-Richmond County voters missed a good opportunity for the city of Augusta concerning the mayor's race.

After listening to several forums with all the candidates, the candidate with the knowledge and business experience to market Augusta in a professional manner was Bonnie Ruben.

Having met her personally, I know she is a caring lady and truly understands that many benefits are reaped by all of Augusta when businesses locate here.

Ms. Ruben has the experience of owning and operating two businesses on Broad Street, Ruben's Department Store (104 years) and the Ramada Plaza Hotel.

Her educational background speaks for itself, having a master's degree in business with an emphasis in finance and is also a certified public accountant. She also has had experience serving on several Augusta-Richmond County boards.

If Ms. Ruben chooses to seek public office in the future, Augustans need to remember all of her qualifications on Election Day.
