AUGUSTA, Ga. - Ruby Murray Chumbley, beloved wife of Robert A. Chumbley, entered into rest Wednesday, November 20, 2002, at Forest Lake Health Care. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 23, 2002, at 11 a.m. in Platts Crawford Avenue Chapel with Rev. Robert F. Hunt officiating. Burial will follow at Westover Memorial Park Mausoleum. Additional survivors include her daughter, Peggy Edwards Sitler of Augusta; two brothers, Otis Garrison Murray Jr. of Augusta and Billie Raymond Murray of Cordele; and one grandson, John Thomas Sitler. A native of Augusta, Mrs. Chumbley was a graduate of Tubman High School and the Barrett School of Nursing at University Hospital and became a member of the University Hospital Alumni Association. She practiced as a registered nurse for a number of years. As a member of Greene Street Presbyterian Church, she served as a deacon and elder and was Birthday Carrier for the Women of the Presbyterey. Because of her commitment to her church, she was awarded an honorary life membership into the Presbyterian Women.
