ATLANTA -- Freshman Chris Bosh scored 17 points and Georgia Tech used a pressing and trapping defense to stifle Team Nike in an 81-48 exhibition victory by the Yellow Jackets Tuesday night.
Marvin Lewis scored 12 points for Tech, which jumped ahead 18-5 and led 39-24 at halftime.
Ismail Muhammad had 11 points for Tech while freshman point guard Jarrett Jack had 12 assists.
Team Nike was led by 12 points from Donald Little and 11 points apiece from Jamaal Davis and Antwon Hall.
Team Nike committed 24 turnovers and shot only 33 percent from the floor, including 3-20 from 3-point range.
"I keep preaching to the team that defense is going to determine whether we are a successful team and have a successful season," Georgia Tech coach Paul Hewitt said.
Georgia Tech opens its season Saturday against Arkansas-Pine Bluff.
