Mr. Robert Miles (EVANS, Ga.)



EVANS, Ga. - Mr. Robert L. Miles beloved husband of Margaret W. Miles entered into rest Saturday November 16, 2002, at Brandon Wilde. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. at Brandon Wilde on Saturday, November 23, 2002, with Dr. Sid Gates and Rev. Ron Etheredge officiating. Mr. Miles a native of Danville, Va. graduated Duke University and continued study at University of Cincinnati until called to serve in WWII, he rose to rank of Captain and was awarded Legion of Merritt for assisting to rearm the French Army. Miles held several managerial positions at General Electric in the aircraft engine group. He served on the Cincinnati Symphony Board, Cincinnati Zoo Board and the Hamilton County Park Board. He was also active in the Big Brother Program in Cincinnati, Retired 1980 to the Landings at Skidaway Islands and relocated to Brandon Wilde in 1991. He is a member of Reid Memorial Presbyterian Church, additional survivors include two daughters, Lynn Miles of Stowe Vt. and Beth Stowell of Kensington Ct.; three grandsons, Daniel Stowell, Ryan Stowell and Austin Stowell.
