EDGEFIELD, S.C. - Entered into rest November 16, 2002, at University Hospital, Mr. Embre Lee "Snook" Scurry, 70, of Crest Road, Edgefield. Funeral arrangements will be announced later. Mr. Scurry was a native of Edgefield County, a member of Pleasant Lane Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and senior choir leader. He was a grandparent at Strom Thurmond High School. Survivors include a loving and devoted wife of the home Earline A. Scurry; two daughters, Audrey Regina (Carlton) Wilson, Stone Mountain and Gail V. Scurry, Norcross; two sons, Embre Bernard (Lesa) Scurry, Blythwood and Ricky Scurry, Columbia; four sisters, Hattie Ervin and Allean Miles both of Washington D.C., Essie Speaks, Newark Jesery and Inez McCain, Ellenwood; nine sisters-in-law, Beatrice Mance, Thelma Goodwin, Mary Williams, Trenton, Sophie (James) Bowman, Johnnie L. (Otis) Yeldell, Rosa Lee Mosley and Robbie Brown, Edgefield, Ophelia Little, Washington D.C. and Pernell (William) Ray, Neeses; one brother-in-law, Willie H. (Frances) Adams, Washington D.C.; three grandchildren, Embre B. Scurry, Charles B. Scurry and Kara Kristina Wilson and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. G.L.
