Stagnant Augusta has not become the great city it could be. Ed McIntyre is a man full of wisdom given him by God. The two years and some months he was in office, this city moved faster and improved in so many things - that has not happened since he left office. He implemented plans for the civic center, the Riverwalk, the railroad overpass and so many other things.
A few people say they can't forgive Mr. McIntyre for what they say happened 20 years ago. I want those people to know that Mr. McIntyre was not the one who originated the word "forgive."
That's what Christ tells us to do in the Lord's Prayer we teach our children. Matthew 6:12, "Forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors."
Mr. McIntyre was raised by a Christian mother, the Rev. E.M. McIntyre, who taught him we are all born in sin and shaped in iniquity. "He that is without sin cast the first stone." (John 8:7)
Yes, we fall down, but the blessing comes when we get up again. God bless Augusta and with Ed McIntyre as our mayor, we shall be blessed.
