I was born and raised in Atlanta, and despite what that blood-thirsty Gen. William T. Sherman did to Atlanta, she is still a grand ol' dame. With so many Yankees now living in the South, it's tough for some of them to understand that you don't change the age-old pronunciation of a town (but they mean well).
Most any true Southerner will tell you that the proper pronunciation of Atlanta is "At'lanna," not "At'lan-tuh." The second "t" sounds like an "n."
