A man was pinned under a car Friday afternoon after he was run over while pouring cement in his yard.
According to police, John Faaborg, 52, was in a ditch outside his Anderson Circle home when Henry Young, also on Anderson Circle, ran over him with a Toyota Supra.
Mr. Young crossed the center line while driving and hit a trailer being towed behind a truck.
Mr. Young lost control of his vehicle and careened into the ditch, pinning Mr. Faaborg.
Columbia County sheriff's Lt. Andrew Shedd said deputies were forced to leave Mr. Faaborg under the car until Martinez Fire and Rescue teams arrived to help lift the vehicle.
"A piece of metal had punctured the victim's leg and was still in there," Lt. Shedd said. "It took us a while to get him because of the way he was situated."
Mr. Faaborg was in fair condition at MCG on Friday night, and Mr. Young was in good condition.
Mr. Young is charged with failure to maintain lane. Other charges are pending, Capt. Steve Morris said.
