Valdosta State will try to wrap up its second consecutive perfect regular season before entering the NCAA Division II playoffs when the Blazers visit archrival West Georgia Saturday night.
The Blazers already have wrapped up their third consecutive Gulf South Conference championship and will be going for their 22nd consecutive conference victory.
Valdosta State (10-0, 8-0) will be heavily favored to beat the Braves, who have struggled this season with a 3-7 record overall and a 1-7 conference mark.
The Blazers hold a 12-7 lead in the series.
All three of the state's Division I-AA teams will be in action Saturday - all against tough opposition.
Southern Conference champion Georgia Southern (8-2) steps outside the league to take on Jacksonville State (5-5), coming off a 19-10 upset of third-ranked Northwestern State.
In the other I-AA games, Morris Brown (1-9) entertains perennial power Grambling (9-1), and Savannah State (1-7) visits Gardner-Webb (8-1).
In Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference competition, Albany State (6-4, 5-2) takes on Fort Valley State (7-3, 6-1) at Columbus. Clark Atlanta (2-8, 1-6) visits Kentucky State (2-8, 1-6), and Morehouse (6-4, 4-3) is at Miles (5-5, 4-3). Clark Atlanta will be trying to snap a seven-game losing streak.
