Mrs. Emmie McLarty (AUGUSTA, Ga.)



AUGUSTA, Ga. - Entered into rest Saturday, November 10, 2002, at the residence, Mrs. Emmie Baker McLarty of Augusta. Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, November 13, 2002, at First Baptist Church with Dr. Rodger Murchison, the Rev. Robert Fain and the Rev. Steph Britt officiating. Survivors include one son, Mr. H.A. "Alec" McLarty of Atlanta; one daughter, Mrs. Mary McLarty Hendrix of Augusta; one sister and brother-in-law, Sara and George Rogers of Midway; her grandchildren, H.A. "Hank" McLarty, Jr. and wife Cindy, Robinson M. McLarty, Michelle H. McElroy and husband, John, and Lee M. Hendrix; great grandchildren, Baker Alexander Hendrix, Robert Alexander McLarty, Henry Jackson McLarty and Mackenzie Ryan McElroy. "Ms. Emmie", as she was affectionately known by many, was a devoted, mother grandmother and great grandmother, who was also a woman of great faith. She was a devoted member of First Baptist Church of Augusta, where she served as a WMU president and a Sunday school teacher. She was a devoted member of the staff of the Church of the Good Shepherd for 24 years. She was also a member of the Camilla Garden Club. Ms. Emmie was loved by many and will be missed by all. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be Dot Moss, Dottie Mae Jacobson, Montine Hair and Nancy Hunter. If so desired, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church Beautification Fund, 3500 Walton Way, Augusta, 30909 or to the Building Fund of the Church of the Good Shepherd, 2230 Walton Way, Augusta, GA 30904.
