AIKEN, S.C. - The Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Harold M. Dixon will be celebrated Friday, November 8, 2002, at 11 a.m., at St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church with the Rev. James L. LeBlanc as celebrant. Final prayers and commendations will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Mr. Dixon, 71, of Cardinal Drive, Aiken, beloved husband of Bernice Schroeder Dixon, died Tuesday, November 5, 2002, at Aiken Regional Medical Centers. He was born July 3, 1931 in San Antonio. He was a son of the late Lester C. Dixon and Doreen Collins Dixon Kenney. Mr. Dixon graduated from St. Marys University in San Antonio with a B.S. in chemistry and received his J.D. degree from Temple University School of Law. He was a Cpl. in the Marine Corps. and served in Korea. Mr. Dixon moved to Aiken in 1990 from Pleasanton, Calif. He retired in 1999 as Chief Patent Council for D.O.E. at Savannah River Site. He received the Department of Energy Special Recognition Award, Superior Achievement Award, U.S. D.O.E. Technology Customer Service Award and the Monotary Special Act and Service Award. He was a communicant and Eucharistic Minister at St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church. He was a member of the American Bar Association, the Missouri and Ohio Bar Associations, U.S. Court of Customs and Patent Appeals and the U.S. Patent Office. He was an active member of the James L. Hammonds Marine Corps League Detachment 939. Survivors, in addition to his wife, include his son and daughter-in-law Gregory C. and Lisa Dixon, Aiken, a brother, Gene Dixon, Seguin, Texas and his stepfather, Charles Kenney, Greenville, Texas.
