HEPHZIBAH, Ga.- Mrs. Geraldine Matilda Harris, wife of the late Herbert Harris, of Fairbluff Road, Hephzibah, entered into rest Friday, November 1, 2002, at University Hospital. Graveside service will be held Thursday, November 7, 2002, at 11 a.m., at Mount Olive Memorial Garden with Rev. Melvin Lowery officiating. Mrs. Harris was a native of Chicago, Ill. She received her bachelors degree from University of Illinois and her masters degree from University of Chicago. Her career as a psychiatric social worker spanned 30 years with the Childrens Aide Society, Cook County Department of Public Aide, Illinois State Welfare System. She was a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority and Belle Terrace Presbyterian Church, USA and was a former volunteer with the American Red Cross. Survivors are her daughter, Audrey Faye Hardy, Hephzibah; brother, Wilbur (Maryann) George, Chicago, Ill.; sister, Mildred Talford, Suitland, Md.; special nephew, Charles (Janet) Underwood, Chicago, Ill.; brother-in- law, Willie (Donnell) Harris, Augusta; cousins, Hayward (Helen) Nipper, Rev. Jacob (Mary) Trowell, Augusta; the Zinnerman family; and numerous other nephews, nieces, great nieces and nephews, and cousins. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. tonight at the funeral home. Williams Funeral Home, 2945 Old Tobacco Road, Hephzibah, Ga.
