Braves name Pat Kelly manager at Richmond

ATLANTA -- Pat Kelly will manage the AAA Richmond Braves next season, the Atlanta Braves said Tuesday.

Kelly was a special assignment scout for the Toronto Blue Jays before accepting the job managing the Braves' International League club.

Kelly has 16 years experience as a minor league manager, including seven years at the AAA level with the Toronto, Montreal and San Diego organizations.

He was a minor league catcher from 1973 to 1983, and appeared in three major league games for Toronto in 1980.
