Mr. Van Lively Sr. (WAYNESBORO, Ga.)



WAYNESBORO, Ga. - Mr. Van Zandt Lively Sr., 84, of 115 Brentwood Drive, Waynesboro, entered into rest Sunday, November 3, 2002 at the Burke Medical Center, Waynesboro. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 6, 2002, at 3:00 p.m at the Botsford Baptist Church with the Rev. Wayne Dixon, Rev.Yonce Lively and Julian Lively officiating. Mr. Lively was a lifelong resident of Burke County and was a member of Botsford Baptist Church. He was also a member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans. He was a former bus driver for the Waynesboro High School Athletic Department from 1958-1970. He served on the Burke County Recreation Commission. His hobbies were gardening and making sugar cane syrup. Mr. Lively was preceded in death by his wife Clara I. Lively in March 2002. Survivors include 4 children: Janice L. Sloan and husband Bill of Gainesville, Ga., Linda E. Wells and husband Roy of Plum Branch, S.C., Timothy D. Lively and wife Polly of Shell Bluff, Van Z. Lively, Jr. of Shell Bluff. One brother, Yonce T. Lively of Shell Bluff. Five sisters, Katy Powell & Sevena Weis, both of Shell Bluff. Judy Dickey & Atta Wade, both of Ocala Florida, Octama Poole of Columbia, S.C. Five grandchildren: Stephanie Sloan & Bart Sloan, both of Atlanta, Ga. Brent & Diann Lively, both of Maple Heights, Ohio. Jennifer Lively of Charleston, S.C. Vanessa Lively of Shell Bluff. Pallbearers will be Bill Lively, K.O. Lively, Jason Waldrop, Hugh Lively, Jr., Mike Lively, David Poole, Mike Weis, Johnny Barefield and Ben Dickey. Honorary Pallbearers will be Past & Present Deacons of Botsford Baptist Church.
