AUGUSTA, Ga. - Charlie T. "Chuck" Pace III, 47, entered into rest Saturday, November 2, 2002, at V.A. Medical Center. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 6, 2002, at Poteet Funeral Home, South Chapel with Rev. Victor Jason officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park with Military Honors accorded by the ceremonial detachment of Fort Gordon. Mr. Pace was the son of Mrs. Remona Powell and the late Charlie Talmage Pace, Jr. Mr. Pace is survived by his mother, and wife Scottie S. Pace both of Augusta; two daughters, Michele Alverson of Charlotte, N.C. and Laurie Anna Pace of Augusta; two step-children, Michelle Oliphant and John Rhodes both of Augusta; 13 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Additional survivors are his step-father, Rev. J.C. Powell of Piedmont; one brother, Terry Eugene Pace of Hephzibah and three sisters and brothers-in-law, Paulette and Cecil Wilbanks, Susan and Ray Knight both of Augusta and Betty Ana and Johnny Wells of Aiken and a long time friend Jack Morris. Mr. Pace was a member of the Festival of Pentecostal Church and a Vietnam Veteran. He was an active member of Augusta Recat, a member of the Paralyzed Veteran Association and a member of Sons of Confederate War. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at Poteet Funeral Home, South Chapel, 3465 Peach Orchard Road, Augusta.
