AIKEN, S.C. - Entered into rest Wednesday, October 23, 2002, Mrs. Carolyn Holley Hancock of Washboard Road, Aiken, wife of Frank Hancock Jr. and daughter of the late Herman Holley and the late Inez Salters Holley. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Wallace Hancock and Herman Hancock and daughters-in-law, Stella Hancock and Mary Hancock all of Aiken; a sister, Teresa Evans of Maryland; a brother, Roy Holley; four grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. Mrs. Hancock was born in Columbia, but was a life long resident of Aiken County. She was retired from Graniteville Company and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Vaucluse. The funeral service will be conducted Saturday, October 26, 2002, at 2 p.m., in the church with Rev. Caleb Coffin officiating. The interment will follow in the Vaucluse Cemetery. The pallbearers will be Frankie Spradley, Frank Spradley Jr., Cyrus Spradley, Lloyd Johnson, Phillip Hancock, Andrew Coursey, Davis Cook and Ed Salter. The family will receive friends at the funeral home tonight, Friday, from 6 to 8 p.m. Mrs. Hancock will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service.
