Graham's time in the U.S. House has been productive

Lindsey Graham is a Christian, a conservative Republican and a trusted friend. He's served South Carolina's 3rd Congressional District extremely well, and is the best candidate to replace the legendary Sen. Strom Thurmond, R-S.C., in the U.S. Senate.

In every position in which Mr. Graham has served - from base staff judge advocate at McEntire Air Force Base to the House of Representatives - he has done so with the strength and power given him through God's love and grace.

As a lieutenant colonel in the Air Force Reserves, Mr. Graham understands the importance of maintaining a strong national defense. He's served seven years on the House Armed Services Committee, and he realizes that the men and women in uniform are grossly underpaid. That's why he supported the largest military pay raise in nearly 20 years. He also supports President George W. Bush's war on terrorism and the expanded emphasis on homeland defense - topics on which I've spoken personally with him.

Mr. Graham spent seven productive years on the House Education and Workforce Committee. He's supported the following initiatives: Dollars to the Classroom - a proposal ensuring that 95 percent of all federal education funds are spent in the classroom, not on red tape and bureaucracy; the No Child Left Behind Act; and The Academic Achievement for All Act, which gives states maximum flexibility in spending education funds, freeing them from burdensome federal regulations in exchange for academic accountability.

Mr. Graham is also pro-life. His Unborn Victims of Violence Act (UVVA) was passed by the House with strong bipartisan support. Under UVVA, criminals committing acts of violence against pregnant women can be charged with a second offense on behalf of the second victim - the all but forgotten unborn baby...

Mr. Graham represents South Carolina's conservative values. He's a good man who deserves your vote.
