AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mr. Landrum George Wylds Sr., of Watkins Street, Augusta, beloved husband of Mrs. Ruby Ready Wylds, entered into rest Monday, September 30, 2002, at Veterans Administration Medical Center. Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 3, 2002, at 1 p.m., at Platts Crawford Avenue Chapel with Rev. Hugh McRay officiating. Burial will follow at Westover Memorial Park with full military honors. A native of Richmond County, Mr. Wylds served in the United States Air Force, and was a veteran of WWII and the Korean Conflict. Mr. Wylds was a member of Crawford Avenue Baptist Church. In addition to his wife, Mr. Wylds is survived by two sons, Landrum G. Wylds Jr. and wife, Patricia of Springfield, Mo. and Thomas Ferguson Courtney and wife, Deborah of Hendersonville, Tenn.; a daughter, Gloria Jean Wylds Nicol and husband, Allan of Collinsville, Ill.; a sister, Marjorie Wylds Jenkins and husband, Athey of Augusta; a brother, Lewis Wylds and wife, Wilhemina of Appling; 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. If so desired, memorials may be made to Crawford Avenue Baptist Church, 507 Crawford Avenue, Augusta, GA 30904. Active pallbearers will be the United States Air Force Honor Guard and honorary pallbearers will be the member of Battery "A"-214 CA AA.
