NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. - Miss Lois McKie, 87, formerly of Woodlawn Avenue, entered into rest Tuesday, September 17, 2002. Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 19, 2002, at 4p.m. in the chapel of Rowland Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry T. Matthews officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Gene Barinowski, Glenn Barinowski, Richard Goley, Rick Goley, John Hammond, and Ed Wells. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the University Hospital Alumni Association. Miss McKie was a native of North Augusta, and the daughter of the late James Cook McKie and Elizabeth Shaw McKie. She was preceded in death by a brother, Tom McKie and sister, Elizabeth McKie. Miss McKie was a private duty nurse, having graduated from the University School of Nursing in 1936. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of North Augusta, Womens Missionary Union, University Hospital Alumni Association and the American Red Cross. Her life was dedicated to nursing and caring for others. Her genuine smile radiated that love. Survivors include a number of cousins. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 3p.m. until the time of the service.
