Private clubs exist to keep people out


rding the chairwoman of the National Council of Women's Organizations, Martha Burk, and her assertion that women should be allowed to join any club or organization they wish, including the Augusta National Golf Club:

I think playwright James McLure sums up my feelings on the topic quite nicely when the character Hattie, from the award-winning play Laundry and Bourbon said, "What's the point of having a club if you can't keep people out?"
