HEPHZIBAH, Ga. - Raymond "Little Ray" James, 22, of Hephzibah-McBean Road, died of injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident in Jefferson County, Friday, September 6, 2002. Mr. James was a native of Richmond County and a lifelong resident of Hephzibah, he was a graduate of the Hephzibah High School and a member of the Big K Hunting Club in Summertown. Little Ray enjoyed fishing and hunting. He had played recreation baseball and softball, and had coached little league, and was employed by Mark Mims Landclearing of Hephzibah. Ray was a Baptist and a member of the Miracle Baptist Church. Survivors include a son, Austin Bo James, Columbia County; his parents, Raymond and Evelyn James of Hephzibah; two sisters, Cassandra Ann and Jennifer Lynn James both of Hephzibah; one brother, Timothy Shawn James, Hephzibah; maternal grandparents, Joyce and John Kitchens and paternal grandparents, Bo and Shirley James all of Hephzibah; a paternal great grandfather, H.V. Weathers, of Augusta. Funeral services will be held at the DeLoach Funeral Home, Hephzibah Chapel, Monday, September 9, 2002, at 11a.m. with the Rev. Marion Jay officiating. Pallbearers will include Daniel Nicoles, Lester King, Bill Shiver, Tim James, Brad Harmen, John Thomas Kitchens, Ruben Spively, Dusty Heitz and Chris Dore. Pallbearers should meet at the funeral home in Hephzibah no later than 10:30a.m. Monday morning.
