COLUMBIA, S.C. - Mrs. Leola Black, 91, of Columbia, formerly of Augusta, died Sunday, September 1, 2002 at Central Carolina Nursing Home, Columbia. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, September 7, 2002 at The Antioch Baptist Church, Augusta. Mrs. Black, a native of Lincoln County, had lived in Augusta for 70 years, where she was employed and retired from The Pilgrim Health and Life Insurance Company for over 30 years. She was a member of the Antioch Baptist Church where she participated and served faithfully in various auxiliaries. She is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Ruby Bentley, Columbia, Mrs. Agnes Edney and Mrs. Georgiann (Elijah) Wallace of Augusta; one niece, Delores Ann Edney of Augusta; one nephew, Willie James Hogan, Chester, Ga.; one niece-in-law, Edith Hogan Harris; four great-nieces, Tonya Hogan of Augusta, Mrs. Sekethia Hogan (Kenneth) Ford of Fayetteville, N.C., Mrs. Alexis (Maurice) Thomas of Atlanta and Michelle Eunice of Augusta; four great-great-nieces, Valencia, Felinia, Jasmine and Markesia; three great-great-nephews, Tyqwan, Markees and Lavert and other relatives and friends.
