Mrs. Violet Widener (NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C.)



NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. - Entered into rest on August 30, 2002, Mrs. Violet Meadell Widener, formerly of Crestview Drive, Woodridge Subdivision, North Augusta. She was the wife of the late Mr. William E. Widener. Surviving are his two sons, Herb Widener of Simpsonville and Harry Widener of Lexington; four grandchildren; six great grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Mrs. Widener was born in Columbia to the late James T. Wingard and Kate Penwell Wingard Turner. She and her husband were the owners and operators of Wideners Department Store, Langley from the 1940s to the 1960s. She was a member of Midland Valley First Church of Nazarene, Clearwater. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11a.m. in the Hatcher Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Harry Widener and John Fairfcloth officiating. Interment in the Sunset Memory Gardens. Friends may call on Monday from 6 to 8p.m. at the Hatcher Funeral Home, US Hwy No. 1, Langley, S.C.
