Susan Glenn has joined the Sheraton Augusta Hotel as director of sales and marketing. She has more than 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry. Ms. Glenn is a native of North Carolina and was most recently employed with Embassy Suites Hotel in Columbia.
Ed O'Neal has been promoted to director of financial services for MAU Inc. Mr. O'Neal, a certified public accountant in the state of Georgia, joined the company as comptroller in 1998. He has a bachelor's degree in business administration from Georgia Southern University, Statesboro, and a master's degree in business education from Augusta State University.
Rod Hutcheson has been promoted to director of professional services at MAU Inc. He has been with the company for 10 years and started as a staffing specialist, then manager of industrial services before moving to professional services in 1999.
Lee Banks has been named purchasing manager by Keystone Homes.
Missie Braddy has joined the staff of Southern Wesleyan University as an enrollment counselor at the North Augusta campus of Adult and Graduate Studies. She is a native of the Augusta area and holds an associate's degree from Georgia Military College and two bachelor's degrees from Augusta State University.
John Hart has been promoted to sports director at WJBF-TV (Channel 6). He began working with the station in 2000 and is a graduate of the University of Georgia.
Barbara Dawson has been promoted to weekend anchor at WJBF-TV (Channel 6). She joined the station in 2001 and will continue to work as the HealthWatch 6 reporter.
Chuck Smith, investment representative with the North Augusta office of Edward Jones, has been named to the All-American Team of the American Funds Group of mutual funds. He was cited for outstanding service in the North Augusta area and for financial expertise and dedication to principles of sound mutual fund and variable annuity investing. Mr. Smith began working with Edward Jones in 1992. He graduated from the University of Alabama in 1978 with a Bachelor of Arts in communications.
Matt Monroe, morning meteorologist for WJBF-TV (Channel 6), has been awarded the seal of approval by the American Meteorological Society in recognition of the quality of his television weather broadcasts.
Becky Nichols, marketing director for WJBF-TV (Channel 6), has been elected to the ABC Affiliate Marketing Board as the small-market representative and secretary. She will help coordinate marketing efforts and improve communication between ABC and small-market affiliates.
