DEARING, Ga. - Mr. Wilbur Thomas Davis Jr., 63, of Neal Mill Road entered into rest August 29, 2002, at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 3p.m. Sunday, September 1, 2002, in the Curtis Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mike Sutphin officiating. Burial will be in Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens. Mr. Davis was a lifelong resident of McDuffie County. He was the owner and operator of Tommys Music Service. He was known as the "Juke Box Man", "Tommy" and "Tom". He was a game warden in McDuffie County for several years, and also worked at Plant Vogle. He was a member of Bethesda Baptist Church. He attended Mount Tabor Baptist Church, Harlem. Survivors include his wife of 13 years, Linda Ray Davis; two devoted stepdaughters, Wanda Peebles and Wendy Waldroup; two special step granddaughters who called him "Papa", Sabrina and Natalie Peebles; one son, Nick Davis; three daughters, LaVerne Galloway, Janet Reynolds and Sharon Davis; four sisters, Lois Reese, Shirley Axon, Joann Bowick and Elizabeth Wells; two brothers, James Davis and Charles "Stump" Davis; three grandchildren and four great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; great nephews and great nieces. Pallbearers will be David Kitchens, Alton Davis, nephews, Mike Huff, Randy Huff, Wayne Bowick, and Joey Davis. Friends may call at the residence or at the Curtis Funeral Home.
