AUGUSTA, Ga. - Thomas B. Russell, 82, entered into rest Thursday, August 22, 2002. Funeral services will be 3p.m. Sunday, August 25, 2002, at Lakeside Baptist Church, Clearwater, with the Rev. Bill Reese, Jerome Berendson and Rev. John George officiating. Entombment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park, Mausoleum. Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the Joy Sunday School Class. Mr. Russell is survived by his two sons, Thomas R. Russell and Ricki D. Russell both of Appling; two daughters, Lynn M. Russell and Leslie A. Rice both of Augusta; sisters, Geraldine Furline of Marietta and seven grandchildren, Thomas R. Russell Jr., Dana M. Russell, Heather M. Fellows, David J. Russell, Jennifer S. Russell, Lauren M. Rice, Steven M. Rice; one great grandchild, Courtnie M. Meade. Mr. Russell was a native of Club Springs, Tenn. He was retired from the U.S. Army. During his years of service, he served he served in both World War II and Vietnam. He was an active member of Lakeside Baptist Church, and also a member of the Hiram Masonic Lodge. Mr. Russell also owned and operated his own business after his retirement. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6 to 8p.m. at the Poteet Funeral Home, 3465 Peach Orchard Road, Augusta.
