Activities and entertainment events scheduled for this week include:

TODAY

FALL CONVOCATION: The ninth annual fall convocation at Augusta State University will begin at 8:15 a.m. in the Grover C. Maxwell Performing Arts Theatre.

BLOOD DRIVE: Shepeard Community Blood Center will hold an Elvis-themed blood drive from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Donors will receive a free "Hunka Hunka Blood Donor" T-shirt. Joey "Elvis" Hodges will greet donors from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. For more information, call 737-4551.

WEDNESDAY

EMS COUNCIL: The East Central Georgia EMS Council will meet at 1 p.m. at the East Central Georgia Complex, 1916 North Leg Road, Building D. For more information, call 667-4336.

WOMEN IN BUSINESS: A Women in Business luncheon, sponsored by Aiken Electric Satellite TV Inc., will be at Houndslake Country Club. Networking will begin at 11:30 a.m., and lunch and speakers will last from noon to 1 p.m. Tickets cost $10.

LIBRARY SEMINAR: All Aiken County public libraries will be closed for a staff training seminar sponsored by Aiken-Bamberg-Barnwell-Edgefield Regional Library System. All libraries will resume normal hours Thursday.. For more information, call (803) 642-7586.
