The people of Columbia County have the privilege to elect our own chairman of the commissioners in the election on Aug. 20. Ron Cross, who has lived in Columbia County for some 30-plus years, is a candidate running for that position.
I have known Ron Cross for 28 years and have found him to be a man who puts God first in his life, followed by family. I have worked with him throughout these years at Aldersgate United Methodist Church where he served in numerous chairmanships, some of which are finance and the administration board. He also is a lay leader.
He is a successful businessman with the ability to listen and to understand his fellow man. Mr. Cross has never been in politics, but he wants to serve the people of Columbia County. I believe we need a leader who has worked with a magnitude of people from various walks of life, and who knows what it is to truly run a business from the ground up.
He has "on-the-job" training to effectively represent us and work with the commissioners, as well as the various county departments, to best serve the citizens of Columbia County. His wide range of experience is something you can't buy, but you can vote for him to be our leader as chairman.
I ask for your vote on Aug. 20 for Ron Cross. He will stand strong for Columbia County.
