AUGUSTA, Ga.- Mr. Amos P. "Tommy" Stacy, age 80, of Augusta, passed away, Monday afternoon, August 5, 2002 at Doctors Hospital. A native of Grover, N.C., he had resided in Augusta for the past 45 years, since moving from Kings Mountain, N.C. Mr. Stacy had retired in 1989, as a heavy equipment operator with the Richmond County Landfill Department; after 30 years.He was member of the Cornerstone Fellowship Church and had served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Barbara Stacy, Augusta, three sons; Tommy Stacy, Augusta, Arthur Stacy, Harlem, Ike Stacy, Augusta, one daughter; Rosemary Johns, Evans, one sister; Sue Moore, Kings Mountain, N.C., one half sister; Erie Mae Watts, Gaffney, S.C., one half brother; Leonard Stacy, Blacksburg, S.C., seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and two step-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Thursday, August 8, 2002 from the Chapel of Elliott Sons Funeral Home, 1134 Telfair Street with Reverend Bobby Coleman officiating and Reverend Paul Smith, assisting. Pallbearers will be J.R. Pritt, Tim Lee, Kerry Carver, Joe Maddox, Clay Weathers, and Charles Barfoot. Interment will follow in Bellevue Memorial Gardens, Grovetown, Ga. The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home.
