AUBURN, Ala. -- Auburn and Georgia Tech, which haven't met on the football field since the 1987 season, will renew their rivalry in 2003.
The teams will meet Sept. 6, 2003, at Bobby Dodd Stadium in Atlanta and in 2005 at Auburn's Jordan-Hare Stadium.
The game in Atlanta was originally scheduled to be played at the Georgia Dome, but the two schools agreed to move the contest to Grant Field which is currently undergoing renovation.
Auburn has played Georgia Tech 90 times, more than any other opponent except Georgia. The two teams played for the first time in Auburn's first year of football, 1892, and met every year from 1905-1987. The Tigers lead the all-time series, 47-39-4 including a 20-10 win in the last meeting in 1987.
