AUGUSTA, Ga.- Entered into rest Saturday, July 20, 2002, at the Medical College of Georgia. Mr. Melvin Hurdle, Jr. 38, of Augusta. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, July 25, 2002, at 1 p.m., from Gardner Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Rufus Copeland officiating. Interment will be in Mount Olive Memorial Gardens. Mr. Hurdle was employed at Carole Fabrics. Survivors are his loving and devoted wife of nine years, Cassandra "Sandy" McGruder-Hurdle; a daughter, Shalita Hurdle; a son, Carrington Blake Hurdle; father, Melvin Hurdle, Sr., N.Y.; a sister, Annette Alava; grandmother, Annie Hurdle, N.Y.; aunt, Elizabeth Germany, Augusta; five uncles, Kelvin Hurdle, Texas, Charles Hurdle, Colby Hurdle, Bernard Brown and Steven Brown, all of N.Y.; mother-in-law Emma McGruder, Augusta; two sisters-in-law, Michelle (Albert) Scurry and Tonya McGruder, both of Augusta; three brothers-in-law, Ricky (Carletta) McGruder, Charles McGurder and Eric McGruder, all of Augusta; a special friend, Debra Murray; and a host of other relatives and friends.
