AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mr. Charles Gerald Hardin Sr., 78, of Kissingbower Road, husband of the late Louise Hardin, entered into rest on Sunday, July 21, 2002, at Doctors Hospital. Funeral services will be held at Elliott Sons Funeral Home, Lumpkin Road Chapel on Wednesday, July 24, 2002, at 10 a.m. with Reverend Wayne Bruner officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Pallbearers for the funeral will be Mr. Hardins grandson and nephews. Survivors include two sons, Jimmy Hardin of Atlanta and Jerry Hardin of Augusta; one daughter, Sandra McMichael of Warrenton; one sister, Doris Heard of Martinez; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a special friend, Kathleen Collins. Mr. Hardin was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Helen Riley. A native of Lincolnton, Mr. Hardin retired from Bell South after 40 years of service. He was past Master and 50 year member of Martinez Lodge, F and A.M. and a member of the Telephone Pioneers.
