GIRARD, Ga. - Mr. Keith G. Carrington, 73, of Creek Road, Girard, entered in to rest Saturday, July 20, 2002, at the St. Joseph Hospital, Augusta. Mr. Carrington was a native of Clark County, Iowa, however, had lived in the Burke County area for the past 22 years. Most of his adult life was lived in the state of Montana. Mr. Carrington was an ordained minister and had pastored Four Square Gospel Churches for over 20 years. He also was retired as a commercial truck driver of Keller Industries with 14 years of service. Mr.Carrington was a dedicated Christian and loved the church and people. He was a member of the Bethany United Methodist Church in Girard. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, at 4 p.m. at the Waynesboro Church of God with the Rev. Joey Grizzle and Joshua Carr officiating. Mr. Carrington will lie in state one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at Bethany United Methodist Church Cemetery, in Girard. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Survivors include his wife, Montez Long Carrington, Girard; son, Kenneth Dean Carrington, Maysville, S.C.; six daughters, Tracy Carringotn, Waynesboro, Tonja Hammock, Girard, Susan Gatta, Colorado, Victoria Hill, Kentucky, Marta Johnson, Little Rock, Ark., Renee Bilsky, Texas; stepson, Michael Godbee, Girard; stepdaughter, Rachel Mobley, Waynesboro; brother, Jack Kermuth Carrington, California; sisters, Phyllis Michaud, Missouri, Thelma Fritchman, California. Additional survivors include 35 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Mr. Carrington was preceded in death by a grandson, Michael "Mike" Godbee in 1997. The family will receive friends tonight, Monday, July 22, 2002, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the DeLoach Funeral Home, 842 Liberty Street, Waynesboro, GA. (706)554-3531.
