Clemson names Ip swimming and diving coach

CLEMSON, S.C. -- Christopher Ip, who won national swim titles all 13 years he led Indian River Community College, was named the swimming and diving coach at Clemson on Wednesday.

Ip's teams swept the men's and women's national junior college championships each year he coached at the school in Fort Pierce, Fla. He was named the junior college national coach of the year 10 times, including seven years running from 1992-98.

Ip, 45, replaces Bruce Marchionda, who resigned in May after eight years as head coach of Clemson's men's and women's teams.
