EVANS, Ga. - Mr. Paul Brinkman, age 75, beloved husband of Mrs. Jane H. Brinkman of Eagle Nest Dr., Evans, Georgia died Tuesday, July 16, 2002, at the residence. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Elliott Sons Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Bob Gillespie and Glenn Ethridge officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park with Masonic Rites. Mr. Brinkman was a native of North Augusta, S.C. but had been a lifelong resident of Augusta. He was the retired owner of Brinkman & Sons Inc. Automotive Service Center and a member of Wesley United Methodist Church. Mr. Brinkman was also a member and Past Master of Fleming Masonic Lodge #718, a member and Past Patron of Alice Warren Order of Eastern Star #483 and a Scottish Rite Mason, a member of American Legion Post 63, and a member of VFW Post 3200. Mr. Brinkman was a U.S. Army veteran serving during World War II in the First Infantry Division in Europe. Survivors include his wife, Jane H. Brinkman, Evans; two sons, Gregory P. Brinkman and Charles L. Brinkman, both of Augusta; three step-sons, Preston W. Young, Panama City Beach, Fla., Ray L. Young and C. Robert Young, both of Martinez; two brothers, David C. Brinkman, Augusta, and Caleb Brinkman of Martinez; one sister, Grace Holton, Augusta; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Bowen, Willie Holsonbake, W. O. "Wimp" Chambers, Bill Crenshaw, Hilton Bazzel, Curtis Browning. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Masonic Lodge and Order of Eastern Star.
