THOMSON, Ga. - Mr. Reese died Tuesday, July 9, 2002, in the McDuffie County Hospital. He was known as "Pecker Reese." He was a lifelong resident of McDuffie County. He was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Thomson, having served as deacon for 40 years and a Sunday School teacher for 30 years. He was retired from Georgia Power Company after 42 years. He was a member and past president of Ambassadors. He served three terms on the McDuffie County Board of Education and was president of the High School PTO. He was active in community affairs as a past president of Kiwanis and a member for 45 years. His interests included farming and he was past president for two terms of Georgia Jersey Cattle Club, three terms as president of Rhode Island Club of America. Mr. Reese was a mason and a past member of the A. J. Miller Lodge 204. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Reese, Thomson; two sons, Bill Reese, Thomson and Rev. Glenn Reese, Jacksonville, Fla.; two daughters, Mary Alice Davis, Richland, Wash., and Beth R. Milikin, Covington; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Westview Cemetery with Rev. Glenn Reese officiating. Memorials may be made to the Family Life Center of Thomson First Baptist Church. Friends may call at the residence or at the Curtis Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday night at the funeral home.
